This is what it's really all about. After all that hard practicing we get the opportunity to go out and annoy everybody by playing loud music and dancing the morris.

We are often seen out around the streets and pubs of Norwich and we do fetes, morris 'ales', dance events and folk festivals.  Here are some examples. To see more of what we've done in the past please visit our  Archives  pages.

Dancing at Dawn

Each year those of us who are mad enough try to get together with other local morris sides to dance out at the crack of dawn on May 1st. This is not for the faint hearted as the weather is not always spring like (we do live in England). We dance as the sun comes up on St James' Mount on Mousehold Heath and then go to other parts of the city.  After this we go to a pre-arranged pub (of course) for breakfast. Some of us then have to go to work if May 1st. is a weekday!

Let the dancing begin

......and then to Norwich cathedral with the Lord Mayor

.....oh look!  It's John Pearson with Champion our horse

Dancing around Norwich

During the summer we like to go out and dance as much as possible.  Dancing at pubs is always a good excuse to go in them!  We also dance in the city centre and have done some mini tours around Norfolk & Suffolk. We have organised days of dance and whole weekends of dance where we can invite other sides to join us. To be honest we sometimes dance out in the winter as well (there's no stopping us!).

Summer's here and the time is right for dancing in the street. Some beer and chips to keep us going. Dancing outside Norwich castle.
Lunch break at the Rumburgh Buck during a tour of Suffolk. Holding up the traffic in Ringland just outside Norwich. A big finish during our weekend of dance 2004. Lots of other sides joined us.

Dancing at Christmas

Every Christmas we organise a dance out around the centre of Norwich and invite other local sides to join us.

These pictures are from 2004. If they look a bit fuzzy it's because they were taken from our video of the event not because the photographer was drunk!

'The Oyster Girl' a stick dance from Juniper Hill. Black Skunk morris who joined us for this occasion. Some dance or other, with wavy hankies this time. Roger Graham-Leigh making so bold as to do a jig all by himself. These are the Norwich Kitwiches. A strange molly dance side that comes out at Christmas. Some of them also dance with Golden Star.

Folk Festivals & Dance Events

When we get the opportunity we really like to go to folk festivals and other morris side's dance events.  These usually give us the opportunity to go away for a weekend meet new and old friends, stay up late, drink too much and be really stupid.  Oh! and do morris dancing as well.
